Black Dragon Safety have all the necessary expertise and experience to help with health and safety requirements of the construction industry. All of our services can be tailored to the individual business requirements, either delivered on an ‘ad-hoc’ basis or packaged together.

Construction sites are often the subject of health and safety requirements, so Black Dragon Safety have design a dedicated Health & Safety Inspection encompassing a physical evaluation of the construction site together with a review of any relevant paperwork or statutory documentation.

During the site inspection, we will work with the site manager or site supervisor and discuss the works being completed, allowing us to report any major issues whilst carrying out the inspection. At the end of the inspection, we will produce a full health and safety inspection report and hand this over to the project manager or supervisor.

Our consultants have many years of experience of Health and Safety in the construction industry, as well as assisting organisations bid for construction works ensuring all their health and safety documentation meets the needs of each tender.  Including tenders for Public Sector via the procurement portal set up by the Welsh Assembly (Sell2Wales); i.e. Local Authorities, Welsh Government, NHS Trust, Colleges and Universities.

As one of the most important strategic management tools in safeguarding your employees health and safety on a construction site, the Construction Phase Plan must contain detailed information about heath and safety management systems and arrangements for the site, any risk assessments carried out and method statements for initial work activities. If you are a contractor on a project, you must produce this vital document before starting any commercial or domestic construction work.

Black Dragon Safety can help compile your Construction Phase Plan prior to starting any work on the construction site. This includes any Health & Safety Executive notifications using the F10. Once we are in possession of the pre-construction information, we will complete your plan at the end of the site visit. We are also on-hand to help you maintain and update the documentation throughout the whole construction phase.

Construction Industry Accreditations are often a requirement from clients who want assurances that their supply chain will not let them down, including many areas outside of just health and safety. Quite often, there will also be additional questionnaires and vetting systems in place to assess competence.

We can help clients with attaining accreditations and completing any questionnaires, such as those required by members of SSIP (Safety Schemes In Procurement) that includes CHAS, Constructionline, Safe Contractor, SMAS, and many more.

Alternatively, you may be a business that needs to vet your own supply chain – we can help with that too by devising systems and questionnaires that cover the essential areas required, demonstrating that your business has made reasonable assurances of those contractors you employ.
